Goldeneye
Videos are one of the most effective ways to improve the technique of a swimmer. Fixed video cameras, even under water, are not enough: every instant of the motion of the swimmer must be analysed. Goldeneye is an automatic trolley that runs by the pool on an inox steel rail. It carries two cameras, one above and one under the water, at a speed of up to 3.5 m/s. The trolley is moved by a low voltage motor (30V DC) and controlled by the operator with a joystick. A PC graphic interface allows the tuning of a few parameters depending on the kind of action to film (start, turn, swimming in different styles). Videos can be saved on pc or shown in real time on a screen.
At the end of the training session, the trolley can be removed and the rail disappears under the water circulation grill.
Goldeneye has been designed by APLab in collaboration with Delta Tecno Studio (for the video equipment) following the specifications of the Italian Olympic Committee.
